Preserving and promoting the cultural heritage and tradition of Palestinian embroidery through designing and creating modern fashion that incorporates elements and motifs of authentic embroidery. Branding Palestinian embroidery as a top fashion accessory.
The Tatreez for Peace project was initiated by Israeli and Palestinian alumni of the Parallel Narrative Experience (PNE) of the Parents Circle - Families Forum. The Tatreez for Peace team includes two Palestinian women, Najla and Faiza, who lead Palestinian women's embroidery groups, and three Israeli women - including Inbar. Information Specialist, Dorit a lawyer and Orna, a businesswoman. The two embroidery groups are from different areas in Palestine and their embroidery reflects traditional patterns representing the uniqueness of the topography and nature in each area.
The diversity in abilities within the team, complimented by connection that was created between Palestinian and Israeli members that is based on deep respect for each other, assure the success of this project.
